WWE announced today on social media that AJ Styles has suffered a "severe neck contusion" following last week’s beatdown by Edge on RAW.

Styles answered Edge’s challenge for a match at WrestleMania but Edge turned heel and attacked Styles with a steel chair and delivered his trademark con-chair-to.

This injury announcement is believed to be storyline-related and not an actual injury that will keep Styles out of the ring.

WWE’s injury statement

"At this time, it is unclear how the injury will affect The Phenomenal One on his Road to WrestleMania, where he is slated to battle The Rated-R Superstar."
