Fans may recall back in 2019 when Bret Hart was tackled by a fan during the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony, and was eventually tackled and repeatedly punched by Cash Wheeler.
Speaking on The Sessions, Cash Wheeler recalled witnessing the attack.
“Watching it happen I was like, it seemed like something that would be a work, but there’s no way that it is. And then you see everyone start to scramble. This is not good. I never go into much detail on this just because I don’t want to worry about it. I’ve said this before on [Chris] Jericho’s podcast, if you watch the incident back, there was no security there, no police there. Just all the boys and his hands were free and he kept threatening everybody. So ‘don’t wait to find out’ is my motto.
It’s kinda what I mean by like, his hands weren’t restrained, we have him by the jacket, but nobody has his hands and he keeps not cooperating and he keeps saying some wild s**t. I’m not just gonna stand around and see what happens. I’m going to make sure we get this the easiest way. So say whatever, but that guy was a douchebag like you said and should’ve never been in that position. I would always do the same thing again if it came down to it again.”
