On January 22, 2022, Lio Rush revealed that his AEW contract is set to expire on February 14, 2022, after which he will once again be a free agent.

Rush revealed on social media today he has signed with Universal Music Group and independent label Thump Records and Virgin Records, writing:

“Today I signed a deal with @UMG #UniversalMusicGroup , @ThumpRecords and @virginmusic. #LioRush”

Rush has released a couple of albums in the past and two EPs.
