Update On Why IMPACT Wrestling Released Matt Striker

As previously reported, Matt Striker is gone from IMPACT Wrestling. Striker noted in a now-deleted tweet that he was disappointed with the decision.

In the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reveals “management wasn’t happy with his performance” and replacing him on commentary was something they have wanted to do for a while now.

With the Hard To Kill PPV event this Saturday and IMPACT tapings thereafter we should find out his replacement very soon.

Striker replaced Josh Mathews on commentary in early 2021 with Mathews promoted to a new role.
