During an interview with Sean Ross Sapp, Bron Breakker spoke about his now-infamous entrance at NXT New Year's Evil, where he kicked through the center of a golden X that was just like the one in the original NXT logo.
"Honestly, I don't know. I just showed up and that's what we were doing. I have no idea. (I was thinking), 'I hope nothing messes up' (with the chains). It was cool. It was a cool thing for me to do. The staff here at NXT, the creative staff is fantastic and always coming up with cool ideas and there are cool ways to make everybody further their character and their abilities. They do a fantastic job. It's great."
"I'm a sports entertainer. That's my job. I want to entertain the fans. I love the WWE Universe and the fans. I wouldn't be here without him. I just want to show them what I can do and that I belong here and I can be a great NXT Champion and I want people to fall in love with my work and want them to be on the edge of their seats when I come out. That's all I'm trying to do."
Breakker spoke about his former football career and how it transitioned into his wrestling career.
"I wanted to wrestle and be a WWE superstar my entire life. The second football was up for me, it was gone. 'Alright, moving on.' This is where I always wanted to be. I've been chomping at the bit here forever. I took the opportunity as soon as it was there."
"My uncle was doing a signing and I just went along with him, just to hang with him. He was like, 'Hey, you're going to wrestle.' [Shocked face]. 'I don't know how to wrestle.' That's really all that was. I had no idea. No (I didn't get feedback for that match). They give me feedback now. "
