Corporal Kirchner Passes Away, Age 64

Corporal Kirchner, real name Michael Penzel, has passed away at the age of 64.

Penzel was formerly a United States Army paratrooper, who was introduced to Verne Gagne by Hulk Hogan and began his pro wrestling journey shortly thereafter.

Penzel got a job with the WWF as RT Reynolds before adopting the Corporal Kirchner moniker.

During his tenure with the WWF, he is perhaps best remembered for his feud with Nikolai Volkoff, which included a victory at WrestleMania 2 in a Flag Match.

After leaving the company back in 1987, Penzel made his way to Japan and became Leatherface and would continue wrestling until his retirement in 2004.
