Toru Yano has finally got his KOPW 2021 Provisional Trophy back as of NJPW's Wrestle Grand Slam today.
The NJPW star defeated Chase Owens in a No DQ I Quit match, which was won after Yano threatened to stab Owens with a pair of scissors and scared him into giving up.
Fans voted on the stipulation for this match, and the I Quit stipulation beat out Owens' suggestion of a Texas Strap match.
Whoever happens to hold the King of Pro Wrestling Provisional Trophy at the end of this year will be crowned the King of Pro Wrestling. Yano, in addition to currently holding this year's trophy, is the reigning 2020 KOPW.
He lost the trophy to Chase Owens at NJPW Wrestle Grand Slam on July 25th.
