As reported last night the WWE contract of NXT star Adam Cole has reportedly expired.

He agreed recently agreed to an extension to work through dates until SummerSlam/NXT TakeOver: 36, but what comes next is for Cole to decide and he's in a great position to do so.

In an update from Bryan Alvarez during today's Wrestling Observer Live he noted the recent release of Canyon Ceman as Senior Vice President of Talent Development might have been a result of his handling of the Adam Cole situation.

"It is strongly believed that this is where it stems from. I’m pretty sure that the reason he was released was this Adam Cole contract situation here" said Alvarez.
