New Japan Pro-Wrestling has announced that Kota Ibushi has been pulled fromSummer Struggle due to side effects suffered after a recent COVID-19 vaccination.

Ibushi was set to team with master Wato vs. Yota Tsuji and Yuya Uemura in a tag match, but that now has been changed to a singles match between Wato and Uemura.

NJPW issued the following statement:

We apologise to fans who were looking forward to seeing Ibushi wrestle, and appreciate your understanding.

Ibushi’s condition will continue to be monitored, and decisions made as to his participation in upcoming matches.
