News On Santana Garrett's Recent WWE Release

As reported last week, Santana Garrett was released by WWE despite only recently being called up to the main roster last summer.

A report from Fightful Select reveals WWE at one stage had plans for Garrett to be in a trio with Chelsea Green and Vanessa Borne (also released), which “nearly happened” but creative changed their mind.

Garrett was reportedly backstage at SmackDown occasionally, but it wasn't a regular thing and the report notes they never heard of any debut plans for her.

Her release reportedly didn’t come as a surprise to those backstage.
