WWE's Lawsuit Against NFL Player Has Been Extended

WWE has been in a legal battle with Stone Cold Jones LLC since September, and it's only going to get longer now that it's been extended.

The owner of Stone Cold Jones is Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones, who has been selling soda under the name. WWE filed a complaint to oppose their trademark as they claim it infringes on their "Stone Cold" Steve Austin trademark.

On December 15th, WWE started negotiating a settlement regarding the dispute. The proceedings got suspended for 30 days as a result and the two sides had until January 15th to work something out with each other.

Heel By Nature is reporting that WWE has requested an extension with the United States Patent and Trademark Office Trademark Trial and Appeal Boardon January 20th.

It's stated they wanted another 30 days to continue negotiations.

If no settlement is made by February 15th, then court proceedings will continue.
