Jay White delivered a promo hinting that he will be leaving NJPW following his loss to Kota Ibushi at Wrestle Kingdom 15. He was then pinned clean by Tomohiro Ishii at New Year Dash the following day.
Super J-Cast notes that White might not extend his contract with NJPW and WWE is believed to strongly interested.
"Several sources have indicated there is some doubt whether Jay White will extend his NJPW contract, rumoured to be up at the end of the month. WWE are believed to be making a strong play for him and it’s 50/50 whether he stays or goes."
In addition, @WrestleVotes posted the following:
"Lots of Jay White / WWE rumors swirling and I can say with certainly that a few of the boys have went out of their way to speak highly of him. And that resonates with some more than others. It’s “game” time."
