WWE Considering Moving ThunderDome To Tropicana Field Stadium?

WWE officials are exploring the possibility of moving the WWE ThunderDome to Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio.

As previously reported, WWE’s current contract with the Amway Center in Orlando is set to expire in early December, and they are actively looking for a new venue for their weekly broadcasts. Meltzer revealed that WWE is looking at other indoor venues in Florida, but the Tropicana Field was discussed as one possible option during the pandemic.

Tropicana Field has been home of the Tampa Bay Rays baseball team since 1998. It was actually known as the Thunderdome when the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning played there during the mid-90s.
