Many will remember that Jeff Cobb had a very short AEW run as part of Chris Jericho's Inner Circle.
According to Dave Meltzer, Cobb had been telling people that he had signed a contract with a wrestling promotion but didn't disclose which one. But now we know that he signed with New Japan Pro Wrestling.
Apparently, NJPW was always Cobb's goal, as he never had any interest in WWE and AEW didn't even exist when he was setting his career goals for himself. He apparently just wanted to use ROH as a stepping stone to get to New Japan, and now Cobb is competing in the G1 Climax tournament.
