On this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite, the AEW TNT Championship was defended, as “The American Nightmare” Cody put the title on the line against Warhorse.

The end result of the match saw Cody defeat Warhorse to retain the title via submission with the Figure 4 Leglock.

Following the match, both Cody and Warhorse were attacked by two masked members of Dark Order, and as they prepared to attack Arn Anderson, former WWE Superstar Matt Cardona (aka Zack Ryder) made his surprise All Elite Wrestling debut by coming to the aid of Cody, Anderson, and Warhorse.
