As part of Night 1 of the special Fyter Fest edition of AEW Dynamite, the All Elite Wrestling Women’s World Championship was defended, as Hikaru Shida put the title on the line against Penelope Ford.

The end result of the match saw Shida defeat Ford to retain the title.

Prior to the start of the match, “Superbad” Kip Sabian was ejected from ringside by referee Aubrey Edwards after he put his hands on Edwards after a shoving match between himself and Shida.
