Update On When Asuka Knew She Was Winning Raw Women's Championship

In an update on Becky Lynch relinquishing the Raw Women’s Championship due to pregnancy. Mike Johnson of PWInsider Elite provided more information on the situation including when Asuka was informed she would be made champion.

For those unaware, the Money In The Bank ladder match was filmed in advance on April 15, 2020, at that time Asuka did not know the match would be for the Raw Women’s Championship. The taping of Becky Lynch's big announcement was done on Monday afternoon and Asuka was informed of Lynch's pregnancy when she arrived for the taping. 

"Asuka was not aware she was winning the RAW women’s Championship, we were told she was made aware yesterday when she got to the taping. Her reaction, while she knew what was going on in the segment, was very legitimately shock and excitement yesterday we were told."

In receiving the title from Lynch, Asuka is now only the second female to become a Grand Slam Champion having wone the RAW, SmackDown, NXT Women’s, and Women’s Tag Team Championship.
