Hollywood, CA (March 12, 2020) - California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Wednesday called for large events in the state to be postponed amid the ongoing Coronavirus outbreak while Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey declared a State of Emergency saying he was “not taking any chances.” Which has led to United Wrestling Network officials to cancel all upcoming Championship Wrestling from Hollywood (CWFH) and Championship Wrestling from Arizona (CWFAZ) televised and live events including this Sunday’s “Grand Canyon Clash” Blockbuster event in Mesa, AZ. Tickets for this event will be honored when a new date is announced and refunds are being offered.
“The health and safety of the Public, Cast and Crew of our productions are priority. In California the Oceanview Pavilion can meet the 250 person/6 feet apart mandate but I don’t think it’s worth the risk of possibly spreading COVID-19. Since our show is prerecorded, there are several weeks of existing programming in the can and if in 30 days we’ve not been in production on new episodes we are fortunate to have a 10 year archive that can be repurposed for broadcasting. I urge everyone to follow all public safety instructions.” stated David Marquez, President and CEO of
David Marquez Productions, Inc.
United Wrestling Network television programming will continue each week on all outlets. For more information on COVID-19 please visit https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/about/index.html.
