Dave Meltzer Dismisses Rumor About Possible AEW On-Screen Authority Figure

It was reported by the WrestleVotes Twitter account that AEW is looking to bring in an on-screen authority figure, and that one of the top names being considered for the role was former ECW World Heavyweight Champion and former WWE and IMPACT Wrestling commentator Tazz:

Rare non-WWE drop: I regularly talk to someone in the wrestling business, not directly tied to WWE... AEW is considering adding a commissioner type figure to TV. Name to watch is Tazz, who recently finished up w/ his CBS Radio job. Not sure it happens but interesting nonetheless.

However, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com/The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has dismissed this report:

Since so much has been speculated on, Taz is on Dynamite 1/1 as an announcer and AEW has no plans for a television authority figure.
