WWE NXT/AEW Dynamite Highlights: Major Match Announced For NXT TakeOver: WarGames, Inaugural AEW Tag Team Champs Crowned

Below are two big highlights from tonight’s editions of WWE NXT and AEW Dynamite:

*On WWE NXT, it was announced by NXT General Manager William Regal that the first-ever Women’s WarGames Match will take place at the upcoming NXT TakeOver: WarGames event. During the broadcast, it was announced that the captains for both teams will be Rhea Ripley and NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler; however, it was not officially announced who would comprise both teams.

The match was announced following a brawl that took place after The Kabuki Warriors retained the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship against Dakota Kai and Tegan Nox. The brawl involved Nox, Kai, Ripley, Baszler, Jessamyn Duke, Marina Shafir, Bianca Belair, Candice LeRae, and Io Shirai. As the women were separated, Regal made the Women’s WarGames Match official.

*On AEW Dynamite, SoCal Uncensored’s Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky became the inaugural All Elite Wrestling World Tag Team Champions by defeating The Lucha Brothers - Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix. SCU gained the victory and the championship thanks to Scorpio countering a Package Piledriver into a rollup for the pinfall victory.

Hall of Famers The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express had been announced to present the title belts to the winners of the match; however, the duo were attacked by Inner Circle members Santana and Ortiz on the entrance stage as they were being interviewed by Chris Van Vliet.
