WWE NXT Superstar Jordan Myles has labeled former ROH World Champion Jay Lethal an "Uncle Tom", after a series of messages about his controversial new T-Shirt.Â
Myles' new shirt, the first piece of merchandise for the young Superstar, depicts his name as white teeth with a red outline on a black shirt, which many have seen as an allusion to Blackface.Â
After a series of tweets by the 2019 NXT Breakout Tournament winner, Myles has now turned his attention to ROH, referring to two-time former champion Jay Lethal as an "Uncle Tom" in a now-deleted tweet.
I think it’s safe to say Jordan Myles is burning all of his bridges. I understand the T shirt stuff and yes it’s racist. That’s between him and WWE. Now he brings Jay Lethal and ROH into this. WOW. pic.twitter.com/muEuVV12iH

The term dates back to the mid-19th Century and refers to a black person considered to be excessively obedient or servile to white people, with the 'Uncle Tom' seen as betraying their own culture.Â
In a statement, WWE apologized for the shirt which has since been pulled from their website, and has denied accusations that the shirt was made with deliberate racist intent.Â
