During tonight’s edition of WWE NXT, it was announced by NXT General Manager William Regal that Velveteen Dream will be unable to compete against Roderick Strong next week for the NXT North American Championship as scheduled due to Dream being attacked by the Undisputed Era backstage. It was further announced by Regal that Dream would be out of action for an undetermined amount of time as a result of the attack.
As a result, Regal has announced that Strong will still defend the NXT North American Championship on next week’s broadcast, and that he will defend it against Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic in a Triple Threat Match.
Initially, Strong was only supposed to defend against one of them; however, Strong interfered in the match between Lee and Dijakovic, which led to Regal announcing the Triple Threat Match.
