WWE Superstar Mike Kanellis has announced on Twitter that he has requested his release from WWE.

The news comes three months after he and his wife Maria both signed new five-year contracts with the company.

In 2018 there were reports that both Mike and Maria were unhappy with their positions in the company, so it came as a surprise when they resigned. In his statement, Mike notes that the opportunity to work in WWE doesn't exist anymore.
