The recent injury of WWE RAW Superstar Drew McIntyre recently took place with the hope that the former NXT Champion will be ready for WrestleMania 36 next year.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, McIntyre recently underwent surgery after his promotional tour in Mexico, though it was not bone or muscle related.
In addition to the surgery, McIntyre was reportedly very ill over the past few weeks, but kept his condition to himself.Â
His last match came on the August 26, edition of RAW, where he suffered a loss to Ricochet in the King of the Ring tournament, though Drew reportedly struggled to get out of bed due to his condition.
The Observer notes that McIntyre kept his condition to himself because he thought it was the flu, but the surgery was done now to give him the best chance to return for WrestleMania season.Â
McIntyre could be cleared to compete as soon as after next week's editions of RAW and SmackDown Live.Â
