WWE Royal Rumble 2020 Weekend Will Not Feature NXT TakeOver Event, Worlds Collide Returning

WWE Royal Rumble in 2020 will likely not feature an NXT TakeOver event, according to PWInsider.

The report notes that the current travel packages for the 2020 Royal Rumble in Houston are not listing NXT TakeOver. Traditionally, NXT has always been apart of the big four WWE pay-per-view events.

Instead WWE is planning to hold a LIVE Worlds Collide special on the Saturday night before the 2020 Royal Rumble. WWE has held Worlds Collide events at their AXXESS events but has never held them LIVE.

It is likely the change has possibly been made to use NXT TakeOver events more effectively against AEW in 2020, so it is possible more TakeOver events will be moved from their traditional slots.

We'll keep you updated.
