WWE SmackDown Live Superstar has said Hurricane Dorian caused him to miss the latest episode of the the Blue Brand.
Owens, 35, has become one of SmackDown Live's most popular stars thanks to his new babyface turn and feud with Shane McMahon.
On Twitter, Owens joked that he didn't attend this week's show because he didn't want to see the Best in the World, but explained that he didn't feel comfortable leaving his family before the hurricane.
I figured if I didn’t show up, maybe Shane wouldn’t either and I’d be doing everyone a favor. It worked! 👍

Actually, I didn’t want to fly out early and leave my family in a potential hurricane. I tried to get to Norfolk today once I knew they‘d be safe but no luck.
It’s on me. https://t.co/SzceUaAUkj
Hurricane Dorian is expected to cause a "life-threatening storm surge" and has already led to 20 deaths in the Bahamas.
