Update On If Vince McMahon Will Be Backstage At Tonight's WWE SmackDown Live

Vince McMahon will again not be backstage at WWE SmackDown tonight, as have been previously reported for the next several months McMahon could be missing a significant number of shows to focus on the launch of XFL in 2020.

Bryan Alvarez said on Wrestling Observer Live that McMahon has been working with creative over the phone all afternoon, and the current plan is for Chad Gable vs. Shelton Benjamin running for 12 minutes.

UPDATE:

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, McMahon “was tearing up tonight’s show. Good or bad, this is a heavy Vince show tonight.”
