According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com/The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE Monday Night Raw Executive Director Paul Heyman plans on utilizing WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg for the Raw brand for the foreseeable future as a special attraction.
Meltzer stated on Wrestling Observer Radio that Goldberg's role on the roster will likely be similar to how former WWE Champion Bruno Sammartino was utilized at the tail end of his career in the 1980s. As longtime fans may recall, although Hulk Hogan was clearly WWE's top star at that time, Bruno Sammartino was still booked to look like a top star who was capable of competing with the younger generation. Bruno had rivalries with "The Macho Man" Randy Savage and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper in the 1980s, and picked up victories over both of them.
