It is with great sadness we report WWE Hall of Famer Harley Race, an eight-time former NWA World Heavyweight Champion has passed away aged 76 due to complications from lung cancer.
As well as being best known for his time in NWA, he had a memorable run the World Wrestling Federation under the name βKingβ Harley Race after winning the 1986 King of the Ring Tournament.
Race was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004.
The wrestling legend's passing was confirmed on his official Twitter with a brief statement:
"Today at 12:50, we lost the man that fought up until the very last of his existence. More information will be released soon, but just know that he loved pro-wrestling and the fans that loved him.
Harley Race, we love you"
Today the world lost one of the toughest men ever to walk God's green earth.
