In the opening match of tonight’s edition of WWE Monday Night Raw, Braun Strowman and Bobby Lashley were scheduled to face one another in a Falls Count Anywhere Match.
As the match went up the entrance ramp, both competitors ended up going through the LED display that makes up the entranceway and displays all of the lights, video screens, etc. thanks to a shoulder tackle from Strowman to Lashley. This caused sparks to fly everywhere as the result of an explosion because of the impact, as behind this location is also where most of the show is powered from, as was later noted by Michael Cole.
The referee immediately called for emergency personnel to tend to both Strowman and Lashley, as the camera angle later moved away to a new position in order to better show what was taking place. Strowman and Lashley were then placed on stretchers and put into separate ambulances before being taken out of the arena.
During the initial impact, announcer Corey Graves was clearly heard to say “holy sh*t,” surprisingly breaking from WWE’s longtime PG initiative.
