According to a report from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the decision to book The Undertaker for the upcoming Extreme Rules pay-per-view was actually made before his match against Bill Goldberg at Super ShowDown. There had been some speculation online that perhaps Undertaker was booked for Extreme Rules as a way to redeem himself after his less-than-spectacular match with Goldberg, but according to the report from The Observer, this is not the case.
Also, it's being reported by Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated that one of the reasons why Undertaker will be teaming with Roman Reigns to take on Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre is because The Undertaker had specifically requested to work with Drew McIntyre.
