TMZ.com is reporting that former WWE personality Terri Runnels will not be prosecuted for an incident this past May in which she brought a loaded gun to Tampa International Airport.
The report states that prosecutors have officially issued a letter of release to drop a charge of carrying a concealed firearm, which is a felony. A letter of release means that the case could theoretically be brought up again in the future; however, the odds are very low that it could happen.
Runnels brought the loaded gun to the airport back on May 29th in her backpack. At the time, she informed police (and later in a video statement) that she had brought it to help deal with an armadillo that was on her mother’s property and simply forgot to take it out of her backpack afterward.
Had Runnels been convicted of the felony charge, she could have faced up to five years in prison.
