'Road Dogg' Jesse James Reportedly Quits WWE After Showdown With Vince McMahon

Former WWE Tag Team Champion and writer 'Road Dogg' Jesse James has reportedly quit the company this week.

According to a report by Dave Meltzer, James made the decision to step down as head of creative for SmackDown Live after being frustrated booking the show alongside Vince McMahon.

This week's show was apparently a "breaking point" for the former champion.

A 33-year veteran of the industry, James is best known for his time in the New Age Outlaws and D-Generation X and is a former Hardcore, Intercontinental and Tag Team Champion.

He most recently appeared at the WWE Hall of Fame 2019 ceremony, where he was inducted as part of DX.

UPDATE: James is still with the company, and has only resigned as SmackDown creative head. More details can be found here.
