In a move that will no doubt raise some eyebrows in WWE, Cody Rhodes has filed for some former WCW trademarks were closely associated with his Father, the late great Dusty Rhodes.
Cody has filed for the 'Prince of Wrestling' for goods and services:
“Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a professional wrestling and sports entertainment personality; Entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainment personality; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, providing podcasts in the field of professional wrestling and sports entertainment Intent to Use: The applicant has a bona fide intention, and is entitled, to use the mark in commerce on or in connection with the identified goods/services.”
Cody Rhodes has been referring to himself as the Prince of Wrestling since early in his WWE career.
The more interesting of the trademarks include former WCW pay-per-views, Battlebowl, Bash at the Beach, and Bunkhouse Stampede.
Bash at the Beach is probably the most memorable of the three, having held events from 1994-200.
