Original Plans For Asuka At WrestleMania 35 Revealed

WWE SmackDown Women's Champion Asuka was reportedly scheduled to face Lacey Evans for the title, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. 

Evans, who joined the main roster earlier this year, was listed internally as the Empress of Tomorrow's opponent, but has reportedly been taken off the card for an unknown reason. 

There are rumors that Asuka will instead face Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville in a triple threat match for the title, as the Absolution team-mates have teased splitting, and Asuka is yet to get a clean win on either. 

Despite being removed from the card, Evans, a former Marine, is expected to receive a big push after the show of shows.

WWE WrestleMania 35 will take place April 7, this year at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
