Actor and former WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr. has claimed he pitched the Kofi Kingston gauntlet match story over ten years ago.
Kingston, one-third of the New Day, has been on a roll as of late, after impressing fans on SmackDown and at Elimination Chamber.
Prinze Jr., best known outside of WWE for his role in 'I Know What You Did Last Summer', took to Twitter to share his support for the Ghanaian star.
Pitched the Kofi gauntlet at Titan Tower over a decade ago to deaf ears. This journey he’s on is real. Kofi tells a hell of a story in the ring and I hope you watch this chapter. https://t.co/vaepRiEqdn

Kingston will be part of a gauntlet match next week on SmackDown, and if successful, will face WWE Champion Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania.
WrestleMania 35 will take place April 7, from the MetLife Stadium, in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
