It was earlier announced by Stephanie McMahon on tonight’s edition of WWE Monday Night Raw that Ronda Rousey had apparently vacated the Raw Women’s Championship on last week’s broadcast by laying it at Stephanie’s feet. Following this announcement, Stephanie stated that Becky Lynch would face Charlotte Flair at this coming Sunday night’s WWE Fastlane event, with the winner being crowned the new champion.
In an update, Rousey appeared during the final segment of tonight’s Raw and revealed that she never vacated the title, but instead wanted to give Stephanie a week to think about things, only to not like the decision she made. Stephanie returned the title to Rousey and stated that at Fastlane, Lynch and Flair would still face each other.
Stephanie further announced the following stipulations for the match: if Flair wins, then Lynch, according to Stephanie, is “done.” If Lynch wins, she will be added to the Raw Women’s Championship match at WrestleMania 35, thereby making it a Triple Threat Match.
Stephanie further clarified that the title match is still slated to be Rousey vs. Flair regardless; however, it has been widely speculated that the match will actually be a Triple Threat featuring Rousey, Flair, and Lynch competing for the title.
