More Backstage Details on IMPACT Wrestling Leaving Pop TV for Pursuit Channel

As was previously reported, IMPACT Wrestling will be leaving Pop TV and joining the Pursuit Channel in January. PWInsider.com and TPWW.net have provided more details on this situation.

Firstly, their deal with Pursuit is a non-exclusive deal, which means that IMPACT would technically be free to also air their programming online if they wish to. As for how long they plan to stay on Pursuit, as of right now, IMPACT officials are viewing it as more of a temporary destination for them while they hunt for a bigger network. No word yet on which networks they might be hoping to land on after Pursuit, but it was reported back in November that truTV, WGN America and possibly even Syfy, were discussed as potential network homes for IMPACT.

As for their relationship with Pop TV, there is reportedly no bad blood between IMPACT and Pop. The biggest reason for them parting ways with Pop was simply due to Pop TV looking to rebrand themselves as more of a women's network, and IMPACT doesn't fit in with their vision for the future. Most people in IMPACT Wrestling reportedly enjoyed the company's relationship with Pop TV, and Pop TV officials were very pleased to have IMPACT on their network.
