Newly-crowned SmackDown Live Women's Champion Asuka will defend the title at the Royal Rumble against former champion Becky Lynch. 

Lynch will use her rematch clause at the pay per view, after Asuka won the championship in a triple threat TLC match, which also featured Charlotte Flair. 

During the TLC match, RAW Women's Champion Ronda Rousey interfered, attacking both Flair and Lynch.
