Indy Wrestler Shawn Phoenix Suffers Broken Skull After Botched 450 Splash

When wrestling goes wrong it can be hilarious, occasionally cringe-worthy but sometimes very serious as was the case when independent wrestler Shawn Phoenix attempted a 450 splash on his opponent outside the ring on a table.

However, his opponent moved at the last moment and Phoenix overshot the table and smashed his skull off the floor and as you can imagine was knocked unconscious. If that wasn't bad enough his injuries from the botched move are extensive - a broken skull, bleeding on his brain, a broken ear canal, spinal fluid leaking from his ear, a concussion, paralysis of the left side of his face, and a torn thumb tendon.

The incident is reported to have happened in October an International Wrestling Cartel live event in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania but has only just come to light.

Footage of the incident has been released by Shawn online but viewer discretion is advised.
