Natalya Addresses WWE Using Her Deceased Father In Storylines

WWE RAW Superstar Natalya Neidhart has described her feud with Ruby Riott as "therapeutic", despite the Riott Squad leader bringing up the Canadian's recently deceased father.

Speaking to Yahoo! Sports, Neidhart said how the story has allowed her to process the death of her father Jim 'The Anvil' Neidhart, who died in August.

She said: "In some weird way, this storyline has been strangely therapeutic because anything I’m feeling I can get it out.

"If I need to cry, I can get it out. I can let everybody see it, hear it and I can take the WWE universe on this journey with me."

The feud between Neidhart and Riott began in November, when Riott broke the sunglasses of The Anvil, causing Natalya to break down crying.

In the interview, the former SmackDown Women's Champion said this story was a fitting send-off for her father.

"I feel like in some crazy way this is like my dad is having one last run", she said.

"I feel like if I asked my dad right now, ‘Daddy, how do you feel about me doing this storyline?’ My dad would say go for it."

Jim Neidhart competed for the WWE in the 1980s and 90s, mostly as a tag team wrestler, competing alongside Bret and Owen Hart.

Riott and Natalya will face this Sunday at WWE TLC, in a Tables match.
