Backstage Update On Daniel Bryan Turning Heel

For those who tuned into last night's WWE SmackDown Live episode, you'd be forgiven for being surprised and somewhat confused about the decision to turn Daniel Bryan heel and award him the WWE Championship with Survivor Series just days away.

The idea for turning Bryan heel was actually one Bryan had been pushing for and one that Vince McMahon himself approved on Tuesday afternoon, according to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer.

McMahon also felt that giving Bryan the title on the same night as Bryan's heel turn would also create the biggest impact possible.

The one snag in all this is that Bryan, who is now a heel will be working as a babyface against super heel Lensar at Survivor Series.
