In an update on previous rumors, it would seem Daniel Bryan will not be traveling to Saudi Arabia for the WWE Crown Jewel PPV which takes place on Friday, November 2.
PWInsider is reporting that Bryan has made it clear to WWE management that he has no intention of attending and the company began making new plans last week.Â
WWE had reportedly planned to not send AJ Styles to Saudi Arabia and production plans were being put into place that would have seen Bryan wrestle Styles inside the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida with the match airing as part of the Crown Jewel broadcast on Friday. These plans have now been dropped.
It is not clear what WWE plans to do in order to take the match off the card. There has been some suggestion that the match could take place on tonight's SmackDown Live or be taped there and air on Friday. Rusev is being considered as a replacement for Bryan against Styles.
Bryan is the second high profile name, alongside John Cena to pull out of the show due to the recent controversies in the country.
