A report/rumor came out yesterday about WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross and current NJPW IWGP Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho possibly starting a new wrestling promotion with the financial backing of Shahid Khan, the owner of the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars and the Fulham Football Club of the English Premier League.

The report claimed that the new promotion might air on AXS TV, which also currently airs New Japan Pro Wrestling.

A representative from AXS TV gave the following brief statement to ProWrestlingSheet.com:

“There’s no truth to the AXS TV component.”

Also, Chris Jericho himself responded to the rumor on Twitter:

I’m starting my own wrestling company? AWESOME! Im also starting my own movie studio w #LadyGaga, my own carwash w #Bono & my own bakeshop!
