Backstage Update On Drew McIntyre's Push, Future WWE Champion?

WWE reportedly sees big potential in Drew McIntyre and there has always been plans for him since he returned to the company. Vince McMahon is reported to have always been a fan of his ring and mic work and ticks a number of boxes.

Wrestling Observer Radio reported today that the plans for McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler are to mimic that of Shawn Michaels and Diesel from the mid-90s. The idea is there will eventually be the main event push for McIntyre, much like Diesel although many view McIntyre in a much higher regard than Kevin Nash (Diesel) on a number of fronts.

The hope is that McIntyre will be a Superstar who can help carry the company forward in the years to come as a WWE Champion.
