WWE Smackdown 1000 Results (10/16)

Welcome to Washington, DC and we are celebrating 1000 episodes of WWE Smackdown and we kick things off with the second installment of Truth TV. 

We get 2 dance breaks by the hosts of the show R Truth and Carmella collectively known as The Fabulous Truth and they introduce their first guest Comissioner of Monday Night Raw Stephanie McMahon.

Stephanie thanks Truth and Carmella for that introduction and says she was the first General Manager of Smackdown and had a vision and is so happy to see that visio come to life in this 1,000th episode. Shane McMahon then comes out

Shane welcomes everyone to episode 1,000 of Smackdown Live emanating from Washington, DC and seeing the video at the top of the show brough back sp many great memories and all of that would not have been possible without the WWE Universe and thanks them for making WWE the success it is

Stephanie then compares Smackdown to Raw and says she loves Smackdown but Smackdown is A show while they do things bigger on Raw. Shane says what they do on Smackdown Live is put things on that people want to see. Vince McMahon then comes out

Vince says no one wants to see Shane and Stephanie bicker. The fans want to be entertained but the question is how. We get the 'What?' chant and Stephanie makes a joke about Vince having his hearing aid in he can hear them. Vince then says how about a 7 second dance break

THE USOS VS AJ STYLES AND DANIEL BRYAN

Side headlock by Bryan, irish whip and Bryan with a shoulderblock. Nearfall by Bryan. Uppercut by Bryan and Jimmy tags in getting a nearfall. Chops to Bryan and Daniel momentarily turns things around with Yes Kicks. Single leg takedown and AJ Styles tags in landing kicks to the knee.

Side headlock on Jimmy and another kick to the leg. The Usos with double team on AJ. Styles in trouble as Jey unloads with punches. AJ fights back. Irish whip by Jey and AJ hits the turnbuckle hard

Calf Crusher locked in on Jey and Daniel Bryan with a Yes Lock on Jimmy as we go to break

Back from break, Bryan in control landing a missile dropkick from the top rope. Yes Kicks by Bryan to Jimmy and nearfall. Styles sends Jimmy to the outside and turns his attention to Jey. Daniel accidentally clotheslines AJ. AJ shoves him away and a superkick to AJ. Superkick to Bryan for the three count

Backstage: Smackdown GM Paige is joined by Teddy Long, Vickie Guerrero and John Laurinaitis

We're back and Evolution make their way out to the ring. Triple H asks how do accomplish something as monumental as 1000 episodes. You accomplish it by evolving and how do you celebrate? By bringing together the one group that epitomizes Evolution. Ric Flair says he's proud to be a part of a group such as this and then it's Randy Orton's turn who says hearing that theme song brings back fond memories. Batista says he has 4 main things he wants to say. 1 is because it's Smackdown 1,000 because its a show he helped build. 2. because it's in his hometown where he bounced in nightclubs for 13 years and saw more violence than any kid should see and here he is speaking to the WWE Universe and calls it a dream come true 3. The WWE Fans no matter whether they booed him or whatever name they called him and says he loves the WWE Universe and doesn't care whether he won or lost all he wanted to do was entertain and 4. is Evolution and calls it special. Four men brought together to build an army. Never been done before, never be done again

Batista addresses Orton first and calls him special and everyone in the group knew it. Next is Ric Flair and they bring up the 16 time World Champion, Space Mountain. Last, but not least, Triple H. 14 time World Champion and single handedly changed this business. Run this business and says Triple H is this business and there's nothing he hasn't done except beat Batista. They then hug and as we go to break

RUSEV VS MIZ - WORLD CUP QUALIFYING MATCH

Rusev with a clothesline and Miz goes to the floor. Rusev follows after Miz. MIz distracts the referee to allow Aiden English to distract Rusev. Miz with a rollup for the three count.

The winner of the match: The Miz

Post Match: Lana confronts Aiden and kicks him in the groin. Rusev sends Aiden into the ring steps. Rusev continues to send Aiden into the ring steps and then he biels English onto the announce table.

Curt Hawkins is in the back with Edge and we go to commercial.

Cutting Edge

Edge is in the ring for the Cutting Edge segment and says he feels like Smackdown is his home then runs down a list of memorable moments that took place such as him cashing in his Money In The Bank contract on Undertaker, Edge vs Eddie Guerrero that people still talk about to this day, marrying and divorcing Vickie Guerrero

He then introduces WWE Smackdown Women's Champion Becky Lynch and tells her he gets what she's going through because he did the exact same thing. Every friendship or relationship that stood between him and the WWE Championship he stepped on them and tells Becky he still sees a good person inside her and she's making a mistake with throwing away her friendship with Charlotte Flair. Edge then says he doesn't think Becky likes herself very much right now.

Becky says he's right. She doesn't like herself....she loves herself and tells Edge to get out of her ring. Charlotte then comes out and a brawl breaks out between them before officials run out to break it up

THE BAR VS THE NEW DAY - SMACKDOWN TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Sheamus and Woods start things off and Sheamus with a side head lock take down and a shoulder tackle. Sheamus with an Irish whip. Woods with a forearm and a satellite head scissors followed by a drop kick for a near fall. Cesaro hits Woods from behind while Sheamus distracts the referee. Cesaro tags in and he kicks Woods. Cesaro with a chin lock and Woods punches Sheamus and Cesaro. Sheamus tags in and they hit a double clothesline.

Sheamus kicks Woods in the back and applies an arm bar. Sheamus with a front face lock while Woods tries to make the tag. Sheamus runs Woods into the turnbuckles and Cesaro tags in and hits a running European uppercut for a near fall. Cesaro with a reverse chin lock on Woods and he sends Woods back to the mat. Woods side steps Cesaro and Cesaro goes to the floor. Sheamus tags in and then he goes into the ring post when Woods moves.

Big E and Cesaro tag in and Big E with two overhead belly-to-belly suplexes followed by a belly-to-belly suplex. Big E clotheslines Sheamus over the top rope and Cesaro wtih a rollup for a near fall. Big E with a uranagE for a near fall. Sheamus makes the tag and he hits a knee to the head and misses a Brogue Kick and goes into the top rope. Woods tags in and Big E with a spear through the ropes. Woods with a Shining Wizard for a near fall.

Big E tags in and he gets Sheamus up for Up Up Down Down but Sheamus moves. Sheamus with a Finlay Slam. Big E with a Big Ending to Sheamus but Cesaro picks up Big E and hits a Gotch Style Neutralizer for a near fall.

We are back and Big E tries to superplex Cesaro but Sheamus tags in and he gets Big E up and Cesaro with a European uppercut. Kofi pushes Sheamus' feet off the ropes. Cesaro with a Northern Lariat to Kofi. Cesaro and Sheamus catch Woods and send him into the ringside barrier.

Big Show's music plays and he makes his way to the ring after Sheamus and Cesaro rearrange the alternate commentary table. Show helps Kofi up and then Show choke slams Kofi through the announce table. Big E turns around into a Brogue Kick and Sheamus gets the three count.

The winners of the match and NEW Smackdown Tag Team Champions: The Bar

We get comments from John Cena. He says at one time there was only Raw. Then Smackdown came thanks to the Rock. New talent came in like Randy Orton and Batista along with a kid who came to the ring to slap Kurt Angle. John says he regrets slapping Angle but he does not regret starting on Smackdown.

REY MYSTERIO VS SHINSUKE NAKAMURA - WORLD CUP QUALIFYING MATCH

Nakamura with a kick and knees followed by a knee drop for a near fall. Nakamura with knees in the corner but Rey with kicks and forearms. Nakamura with a knee and front face lock. Rey with punches and kicks. Rey with a satellite head scissors and Rey follows with forearms. Nakamura with knees to the head and ribs. Rey kicks Nakamura into the ropes and Nakamura has broken the invisible seal and escapes the 619. Nakamura is knocked to the floor and Rey slides out of the ring for a splash onto Nakamura.

Rey sends Nakamura back into the ring and he goes for a double jump moonsault but Nakamura with a kick that crotches Rey and we go to commercial.

We are back and Rey with a seated splash. Nakamura sends Rey to the apron but Rey with a shoulder. Nakamura goes to the turnbuckles and gets Rey on his shoulders. Rey with elbows and a Frankensteiner for a near fall. Rey goes to the apron and goes for a springboard move but Nakamura with a gutbuster. Nakamura puts Rey on the turnbuckles and connects with a knee and he gets a near fall. Nakamura goes for the reverse exploder and hits it. Rey with a victory roll to counter Kinshasa. Nakamura with an enuzigiri.

Nakamura misses Kinshasa and Rey with a kick and head scissors that sends Nakamura into the ropes. Rey with a 619 and splash for the three count.

The winner of the match: Rey Mysterio

Undertaker comes out next and has 3 words for DX. Rest In Peace
