Kurt Angle Returns To WWE On Monday Night Raw, Qualifies For WWE World Cup Tournament

On tonight’s edition of WWE Monday Night Raw, General Manager Kurt Angle returned to WWE as part of a special Global Battle Royal, in which the winner would advance to November’s WWE Crown Jewel event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia as a competitor in the first-ever WWE World Cup tournament.

The match was set up by Acting General Manager Baron Corbin as a way to enter himself into the tournament, as the battle royal featured a host of unknown competitors supposedly from other countries around the world.

Angle was disguised as the masked Conquistador and remained outside the ring for the entire match. He last eliminated Corbin to win the battle royal, then unmasked to reveal himself.

During a post-match interview backstage with Charly Caruso, Angle noted that technically, he’s “still on vacation” as far as being Raw General Manager goes.

Angle now joins John Cena as a competitor in the WWE World Cup tournament, with six more participants still to be determined via qualifying matches.
