On tonight’s edition of WWE Monday Night Raw, it was announced that John Cena will compete in the first-ever WWE World Cup tournament, which will take place on November 2nd as part of the WWE Crown Jewel event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
It was further announced that Cena would not have to compete in a qualifying match for the WWE World Cup “due to his past accomplishments.”
In terms of the tournament itself, it was announced that there will be a total of eight competitors, four from Raw and four from SmackDown LIVE. Each competitor, with the exception of Cena, will only advance to the tournament if they win qualifying matches. These qualifying matches will take place on both Raw and SmackDown LIVE.
As previously announced, the WWE World Cup tournament will seek to crown “the best in the world.”
