The "Queen of Soul" Aretha Franklin Passes Away 76

The "Queen of Soul" Aretha Franklin has passed away aged 76 following a battle with cancer.

Fraklin made two appearances for WWE, firstly at WrestleMania III inside the Silverdome singing "America The Beautiful" in front of 93,000 fans and returned 20 years later to sing the same song for 75,000 WWE fans at WrestleMania 23 inside Ford Field in Downtown Detroit.

The singing powerhouse is reported to have made WrestleMania III in the nick of time and performed America the Beautiful without a soundcheck due to the masses of traffic around the arena leading up to the big event.
