New Japan Pro Wrestling are aiming to re-sign WWE superstar Shinsuke Nakamura, according to reporter Dave Meltzer.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer said how he would not be shocked if Nakamura returned, as well as other former New Japan stars.
He said: "I know they do want him back ... there will be attempts for all those guys. Gallows and Anderson, if they wanna go back there, they can go back there. They’re kind of treading water [in WWE], who knows how that’s gonna go."
Nakamura's contract with the WWE expires in a few months, with it being likely that the current United States Champion will ultimately sign with WWE.
“I don’t anticipate anyone going back there [but] you just don’t know how people feel and what people want out of life," Meltzer said.
